Baskerville Type Specimen

For this project I was asked to create a type specimen for an existing typeface, selling it to modern audiences. My specimen adheres to the traditional center alignment of Baskerville URW. The use of a light teal breathes new life into the classic typeface, proposing a modern clean aesthetic that highlights the sophistication of the typeface. Typographic elements are blown up in size, forcing audiences to examine the beauty and uniqueness of their geometry. Furthermore, mirroring and turning traditional letterforms allows audiences to view the well-known typeface with fresh eyes. The specimen is printed on parchment and the binding is hand-sewn.
